AT&T MLS Goal of the Week update: Joao Plata holds narrow lead over Diego Valeri in Week 28 vote

AT&T Goal of the Week: Week 28

Week 28 brought us some heart-stopping strikes, so it's fitting that the AT&T MLS Goal of the Week voting looks headed for a photo finish.

With one day left in the polling, Real Salt Lake dangerman Joao Plata's fine finish has a tenuous hold on first place with 36.93 percent of ballots cast, a nose ahead of Portland Timbers maestro Diego Valeri's contender, which has garnered 31.28 percent of the vote to date.

Further back, Colorado midfielder Jose Mari's swerving daisycutter sits in third place with16.58 percent, followed by New York Red Bulls hat-trick hero Bradley Wright-Phillips' entry and Luis Silva's gorgeous free kick for D.C. United with 9.85 and 5.35 percent, respectively.

Your vote could help decide this one. Pick which goal you think was the best! The winner is determined by the total number of votes cast online and will be announced on Friday.

Voting runs until 11:59 pm PT on Thursdays. For complete coverage of the AT&T MLS Goal of the Week — including an archive of all of this season's nominees and winners — click here.
