American Exports: Bad day in Norway for Mix Diskerud's Rosenborg & Bob Bradley's Stabaek

Mix Diskerud, Rosenborg

AMSTERDAM – It was defeat all around for the Americans working fields in Norway on Sunday night, with Mikkel Diskerud and Rosenborg all but kissing Tippeligaen title hopes goodbye with a 2-1 loss at FK Haugesund.

The US midfielder went all 90 in midfield for the visitors, who conceded twice in a four-minute span during the middle of the first half to squander a 64-36 possession edge. Diskerud drew one save and set up a good chance for a teammate to do the same as RBK attempted to rally after the break.

With six games remaining on the league schedule, Rosenborg stand 17 points adrift of leaders Molde FK. They also saw a three-match win streak halted and their lead for the final Europa league slot trimmed to two points.

Elsewhere, Bob Bradley's Stabæk also saw a strong run of form ended on the road after his charges fell 3-0 at Aalesund FK.

Though both Andrew Jacobson and Michael Stephens pitched in with solid full midfield shifts, the Blue Ones succumbed to a trio of AaFK strikes between the 65th and 82nd minutes. Stabæk slipped a rung to to ninth place with their first loss in four, but still stand seven points clear of the relegation mire.
