MLS vs Liga MX: Four MLS clubs participate in U-15 tournament this week

Torneo Internacional U-15

The rivalry between MLS and Liga MX has ratcheted up in recent years, particularly as the senior teams battle it out each year in the CONCACAF Champions League.

Things get a little younger this week as the U-15 teams from four MLS clubs head to Mexico City for the first Torneo Internacional Sub-15

The Chicago Fire, FC Dallas, Houston Dynamo and Toronto FC will represent MLS in the tournament, taking on their young counterparts from Chivas Guadalajara, Pachuca, Atlas Guadalajara and Morelia from Liga MX.

The tournament runs from September 15 through September 20.

Matches will be played at CECAP, part of the Mexican federation's administrative and training facilities, and the final will be held at the Azteca Stadium, site of many famous Mexico-USA matches over the years.

The eight clubs have been put into two groups:

Group 1: Chivas de Guadalajara, Houston Dynamo, Pachuca, Chicago Fire

Group 2: Atlas, FC Dallas, Morelia Monarcas, Toronto FC
