Transfer Deadline: Friday, 10 pm ET
MLS Fantasy managers were expecting big numbers in Round 27. Unfortunately, things didn't quite go according to plan. After high marks of 167, 154 and 159 points the past three rounds, the top scorer peaked at just 121 points this week.
You can blame some unexpected absences for that dip. Or at least that's what lots of managers are doing this Monday.
Landon Donovan missed the second match of LA's double-game week because to yellow card accumulation, destroying any opportunity he had of finishing as the top scoring player for the fourth consecutive week. Instead, top honors went to Vancouver Whitecaps' newest addition – central defender, Kendall Waston (21 points).
Montreal's Ignacio Piatti, meanwhile got a rest on the weekend. Dan Gargan missed out on his second match for LA because of yellow-card accumulation. Lots of double weeks went down the drain.
No DGW's in Round 28, but Seattle Sounders are the only team with one in Round 29. My recommendation – grab two players this week and another two next week.
