USMNT midfielder Jermaine Jones removed at halftime of New England Revolution game with injury

Jermaine Jones picked up his third assist in the first half of New England's home game against Montreal on Saturday evening. There would be no chance to add to that total in the second half, as the DP was removed at the break by head coach Jay Heaps:

Jones had his typically dynamic showing in the first 45, picking up the assist on Lee Nguyen's goal in the 25th minute (video above). He also had a share of the blame on Montreal's opener, in which he failed to close down Futty Danso on the defender's foray into the attacking half, a sequence that ended with Calum Mallace's tap-in.


The Revs held a 2-1 lead at halftime thanks to goals from Nguyen and Kelyn Rowe, and would go on to win by that scoreline.
