Seattle Sounders first to clinch place in MLS Cup Playoffs after dramatic victory vs. Real Salt Lake

One down, nine more postseason berths to go.

Following a 3-2 stoppage-time victory against Real Salt Lake on Friday night, the Seattle Sounders became the first club to lock in their place in the 2014 MLS playoff field, a change in the top tiebreaker to total wins meaning the Sounders can't be pushed outside the top five in the Western Conference.

Seattle have made the postseason in all six seasons of their MLS existence, falling to archrivals the Portland TImbers in the Western Conference semifinals a year ago. Seattle currently lead the race for the Supporters' Shield as well, leading the league with 54 points from 27 games.
