We're just about three-quarters of the way through the 2014 regular season and it's still not clear who the MVP front-runner is. Yes, Bradley Wright-Phillips is on pace for an historical season, but his Red Bulls currently sit in seventh in the Eastern Conference. And -- more to the point -- while BWP's goals have been killer, it's arguable that he's not even the MVP of his own team:
Ooops, sorry Titi.
Nobody's sequenced the soccer genome yet, but when someone really smart cracks it, "Chance Creation" and "Attacking Third Pass Completion" will be at the heart of the whole damn thing. And by that metric - which I understand much more clearly with my gut than with my brain, to be fair - Henry is the best player in New York, and probably in the league.
EDIT: Thanks for spending an afternoon with me! Let's do it again next Thursday.
