But when it comes to the long-debated Soccer City USA title, it's hard to argue with Kansas City.
After Sunday's 2-1 NWSL championship victory by FC Kansas City over the Seattle Reign, the city now holds three of the major soccer championships in the USA.
Sporting Kansas City are the defending MLS Cup champions after their triumph in 2013 over Real Salt Lake, while the Missouri Comets are the reigning indoor champs. They play in nearby Independence, Missouri.
