USMNT, Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard announces book to be released late 2014 | SIDELINE

Tim Howard celebrates 100th USMNT appearance with family

US national team and Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard was already a star after this summer, but he's about to blow up even more with a book deal announced on Monday.

The memoir, simply titled "The Goalkeeper," will be published by HarperCollins Publishers on Dec. 9 and detail the highs and lows of his life and career, including his battles with Tourette's Syndrome, in hopes that his story might inspire others.

Following his standout performance at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, the spotlight burned bright on the 35-year-old New Jersey native, who developed during six years with the MetroStars from 1998-2003.

A Twitter meme highlighting "things Tim Howard could save" took over social media for an entire week. He signed a long-term deal to serve as a Premier League analyst for NBCSN. He was even the subject of an awkward TMZ exclusive.
