Seattle Sounders' DeAndre Yedlin hoists Seahawks' 12 flag before preseason NFL game | SIDELINE

DeAndre Yedlin chats with Seahawks coach Pete Carroll

For a native chlid like Seattle Sounders defender DeAndre Yedlin, raising the "12 flag," which signifies the 12th man — the team's fans — before a Seattle Seahawks NFL game has to be one of the greatest honors bestowed upon a Seattleite.

At every home game just before kickoff, the flag is raised in honor of the 12th man. From former Seahawks greats, to local celebrities and sports personalities, being called upon to raise the flag has become an honor within itself.

On Friday, it was Yedlin's turn to represent the fans of the defending Super Bowl champions.

"I'm very excited, I've watched the Seahawks since I was young," Yedlin said in an interview with Seahawks.com before raising the flag. "To be able to get this honor, it's pretty amazing and to be able to do it in the stadium I play in is even better."
