How should Jurgen Klinsmann approach US goalkeeper competition?

New Blood In Net

Tim Howard is taking a break from the US national team. One year, to be exact. That opens the door for Brad Guzan and Nick Rimando, according to Jurgen Klinsmann, but Simon Borg thinks others deserve a shot at No. 1 as well. Similarities to Landon? Yes and no. ESPN's Alexi Lalas wasn't surprised and he explains why and what kind of testimonial he'd hold for Donovan as well. Plus, what's up with the Jermaine Jones saga?

Meanwhile, MLS teams are still going about their business, including some head-scratching CONCACAF Champions League games in midweek. The guys love the competition but wonder what it will take for MLS clubs (and fans) to make it a priority. Don't miss the weekend action either. FC Dallas can prove they're for real, D.C. United have the opportunity to complete (for now) the worst-to-first narrative and the stakes are sky high in Cascadia.
