American Exports: Jose Torres out, Herculez Gomez travels with Tigres to kick off Liga MX week

GUADALAJARA, Mexico – US international Jose Torres is out of Tigres’ match against Morelia on Friday with a “bruised right leg,” according to the club.

Tigres didn’t reveal how long Torres will be out for, but striker Herculez Gomez did travel with the team for the game against Liga MX’s 17th-placed team (8:30 p.m. ET, Azteca America, ESPN Deportes).

Michael Orozco is back from suspension for Puebla’s away trip to face Monterrey (Sat, 8 p.m. ET, Univision Deportes), with La Franja desperate for points in its struggle against relegation.



Later Saturday, Edgar Castillo’s Atlas will hope to continue its undefeated start to the Apertura 2014 on the road against Clausura 2014 finalist Pachuca (9 p.m. ET, Telemundo), with Gabriel Farfan’s Chiapas hosting league leader Club América later on (10 p.m. ET, Univision Deportes).

On Sunday, Joe Corona, Greg Garza and Paul Arriola will all be looking for minutes as Tijuana takes on struggling Pumas in Mexico City (1 p.m. ET, Univision Deportes).

In Mexico’s second division, Marco Vidal’s Mineros de Zacatecas play at home to Juan Pablo Ocegueda’s Alebrijes de Oaxaca (Fri, 8:30 p.m. ET), with Sonny Guadarrama’s Atlante also in action Friday against Coras FC (8 p.m. ET).

Finally, Mérida and Emanuel Guzman travel away to San Luis on Saturday (8 p.m. ET).
