Castrol Index Weekly Top 20: FC Dallas rookie Tesho Akindele blasts past the rest in Week 23

When players score in their teams' wins, they usually have good games. But when players score hat tricks, they really set themselves apart from the rest of the pack.

That was the case in Week 23 for FC Dallas rookie Tesho Akindele, who scored three goals in his team's 5-0 victory over San Jose and tops the Castrol Index Weekly Rankings as a result. Akindele is joined in the Top 5 for the week by teammate Fabian Castillo (No. 5), who scored a pair of goals himself and set up one of Akindele's tallies.

Rounding out the upper part of the rankings are Houston Dynamo forward Will Bruin (No. 2), who scored the winner over the Philadelphia Union, David Ousted (No. 3), as he kept a shutout on the road for the Vancouver Whitecaps against Chivas USA, and another goalkeeper, Evan Bush, who notched a shutout of his own in a rare win for the Montreal Impact.
