LA Galaxy schedule press conference following deadline day, but Sacha Kljestan says no deal‏

Bruce Arena in LA Galaxy vs. FC Dallas

It looks like somebody's about to join the LA Galaxy. But who?

In an MLS transfer deadline-day development that was somewhat overshadowed by the runup to the AT&T MLS All-Star Game, the Galaxy announced on Wednesday that a press conference will take place at 5 pm ET on Thursday in the Champions Lounge at StubHub Center, suggesting that a new acquisition is set to be unveiled.

Granted, this could be any kind of announcement, not necessarily a player signing. But the fact that the event falls one day after the close of the league's international transfer window and will be broadcast live on two local cable channels and streamed on LAGalaxy.com – combined with the club's rescheduling of the senior team's practice in order to allow reporters to attend – implies that this is no boilerplate presser.

Wednesday's announcement quickly sparked speculation that LA's widely-rumored pursuit of a loan move for Sacha Kljestan had finally proved successful, but the player himself took to Twitter to pour cold water on that idea.

So if it isn't Kljestan's arrival, just what are Bruce Arena and the Galaxy about to reveal? Take your guesses in the comments section below.
