All-Star: Julian Green enters game for Bayern Munich in first half to big ovation

One of the most intriguing names when Bayern Munich was unveiled as the MLS All-Star opponent for the 2014 AT&T MLS All-Star Game was prospect Julian Green.

The US international made his first appearance on American soil for Bayern Munich in Wednesday's match at Providence Park, entering in the 37th minute for veteran forward Claudio Pizarro.

Green, who scored in his lone appearance for the USMNT in Brazil, the Round of 16 loss to Belgium, was among the US national team World Cup veterans honored before the match, and he received a very warm reception from the Portland crowd.

When he entered the game, Green also received a rousing ovation (video, above).

And once he entered the field, the 19-year-old, hoping to get more playing time with the Bundesliga champions' first team in the upcoming season, attempted to help Bayern extend their 1-0 lead. Green had a shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but All-Star goalkeeper Nick Rimando blocked his USMNT teammate.
