SANDY, Utah – Real Salt Lake captain Kyle Beckerman will miss Wednesday's MLS All-Star Game because of a pair of “nasty” feet.

According to RSL, the midfielder suffered a “minor” foot injury that will prevent him from playing in Portland against Bayern Munich (9:30 pm ET | ESPN2, UniMas, TSN, RDS). According to Beckerman's coach, his feet are not something you want to see.

“I looked at his feet and his feet are just all beat up,” RSL head coach Jeff Cassar told reporters. “His feet are hurting him. We went and got him fitted for some orthotics. Just had him getting some touches to get used to the orthotics.”

Beckerman warmed up a bit with the team at training on Tuesday and jogged a bit on the sidelines. But he did not participate in any of the team's drills.

The team hopes to have Beckerman in the lineup when it faces D.C. United on Saturday night (10 pm ET, MLS Live), but that remains uncertain.

According to Cassar, Beckerman stint with the US national team at the World Cup contributed to the problem.

“We have to be really mindful of Kyle's body, especially going all the way back to Brazil,” he said. “So we have to rest him as much as we possibly can. But his feet are really messed up.”

Messed up enough so that Cassar had a difficult time describing them.

“They just look nasty. Nasty,” he said.

Real Salt Lake will now be represented by just one player at the All-Star Game – goalkeeper Nick Rimando, another member of the USMNT who traveled to Brazil for the World Cup.
