Castrol Index Weekly Top 20: D.C. United's Bill Hamid shines brightest in Week 21

Hamid Castrol

From the looks of it, Week 21 was a week for goalkeepers, at least according to the Castrol Index.

Half of the Top 20 performances in the weekly rankings came from goalkeepers, starting with D.C. United's Bill Hamid, whose eight-save performance against Toronto FC set the pace for all players in Week 21, and bookended with Real Salt Lake's Nick Rimando, who notched six saves against Rocky Mountain Cup rivals Colorado Rapids in matching the all-time MLS shutout record.

In the middle, standouts for the week include Sean Johnson (Nos. 7 and 16), who made the rankings for both of his games in net for the Chicago Fire, and San Jose Earthquakes goalkeeper Jon Busch (No. 3), who grabbed the shutout to open up Levi's Stadium with a win over the Seattle Sounders.

Besides Johnson, one other player reached the Top 20 twice on the week. Landon Donovan (Nos. 15 and 17) helped spearhead the LA Galaxy to a pair of wins over Cascadia teams.
