Mexico return to US with September friendlies vs. Chile, Bolivia in Northern California, Colorado

The Mexican national team has made the United States its second home in recent years, and El Tri will be returning stateside in September.


The Federación Mexicana de Fútbol and Soccer United Marketing announced on Tuesday that El Tri will face Chile on September 6 in the first-ever international soccer game at the new Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.


Three days later, Mexico will take on Bolivia at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colo. Kickoff for both matches is set for 10 pm ET, and tickets for both will go on sale on Thursday. 



With these matches falling within FIFA's international fixture window, top stars for Mexico and their opponents are expected to participate. The games could help shape El Tri's roster for a busy 2015 which includes the CONCACAF Gold Cup and Copa America tournaments. 


These two friendlies will be Mexico’s first matches in the US since their run into the Round of 16 at the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
