AMSTERDAM – Despite a late game-tying assist from Michael Stephens, Tippeligaen woes continued for Bob Bradley's Stabæk with a 3-2 defeat at cordial rivals Vålerenga on Tuesday.

After taking the initial lead midway through the opening frame, the Blue Ones conceded twice before halftime to fall behind. In the 67th minute, Stephens cleverly slipped Fredrik Brustad in alone and the striker rounded the home netminder to re-tie the game.

However, Vålerenga's Ghayas Zahid bagged his second of the game with eight minutes left to keep Bradley and the visitors docked in 11th place. Stabæk have now lost six games from a seven-match winless slide in league play.
