Save of the Week

Columbus Crew's Steve Clark earns Save of the Week award with impressive double-stop

Steve Clark is apparently immune to the transition phase that many players experience when first arriving in MLS.

Clark has enjoyed a solid season in goal for the Columbus Crew and continued to display his impressive skills in the Crew's 2-1 triumph over the Montreal Impact. Clark made a spectacular double save in the second half when the match was tied at 1-1, denying both Marco Di Vaio and Andres Romero with impressive parries.

Those two blocks opened the door for the Crew to pick up the three points and earned Clark Week 19's Save of the Week honors. The 28-year-old goalkeeper collected more than 40 percent of the vote to earn the first MLS Save of the Week award of his career.

New York Red Bulls netminder Luis Robles came closes to Clark's total this week, finishing in second place with nearly 26 percent.

Final Votes - Week 19:

1. Steve Clark (CLB): 40.05%
2. Luis Robles (NY): 25.62%
3. Zac MacMath (PHI): 18.6%
4. Tally Hall (HOU): 9.39%
