FC DALLAS vs. PHILADELPHIA UNION
TOYOTA STADIUM, Frisco, Texas
March 6, 2015 (WEEK 1, MLS Game #5)
3:00 PM ET (MLS LIVE)

A key intersectional matchup for different reasons kicks off the 2016 season when FC Dallas play host to Philadelphia Union at Toyota Stadium on Sunday afternoon. FC Dallas come off a season where they tied the New York Red Bulls for the league's best regular season record, yet fell short of a second MLS Cup appearance in club history. Union are looking to get a jump on putting an end to a four-year postseason drought, ending the 2015 campaign in eighth place in the Eastern Conference.

  • Atiba Harris scored one goal and set up another as FC Dallas completed its preseason campaign with a 2-1 win against USL affiliate Oklahoma City Energy FC. FCD ended their preparations with three wins in three preseason friendlies, one coming against MLS side New England in mid-February.
  • Union completed an undefeated run in the Suncoast Invitational preseason tournament in the Tampa area with a 1-0 victory against Toronto FC on Saturday, as C.J. Sapong scored the gameā€™s only goal. Union also claimed draws with D.C. United and the New York Red Bulls during the event.
  • FC Dallas have never lost to Philadelphia Union. FCD claimed a 2-0 win last March 21 at PPL Park in the only meeting between the teams, their second consecutive victory in the all-time series. FCD has won four of the eight meetings lifetime, with four draws.
  • FC Dallas has won three of the four meetings all-time in Frisco, the only time Union gaining a result coming in a 1-1 draw in 2012.
