It was a good week to be a goalkeeper in MLS, at least according to the Castrol Index.
Nine of them made the Castrol Index Weekly Top 20 for Week 16, with Sporting Kansas City's Eric Kronberg -- who was nominated for Etihad Airways MLS Player of the Month for June -- taking the top spot, after leading his side to a 1-0 road win over the Portland Timbers.
Though only one other 'keeper, Chivas USA's Dan Kennedy, who earned his first clean sheet of the season in a win over Real Salt Lake, reached the Top 5, the rankings are studded with them. Steve Clark (No. 7), Troy Perkins (No. 8), Jaime Penedo (No. 9), and Stefan Frei (No. 10) made the top half of the order, while David Ousted (No. 15), Joe Bendik (No. 19) and Jeff Attinella (No. 20) all racked up enough points to make the weekly rankings.
