World Cup: Cristiano Ronaldo, Pepe held out of Portugal's friendly vs. Greece as precaution

Anyone hoping to catch another glimpse of Cristiano Ronaldo before this summer's World Cup will have to wait beyond this weekend for that opportunity.

Ronaldo and Real Madrid teammate Pepe have both been ruled out of Portugal's World Cup tune-up vs. Greece on Saturday because of injury. Ronaldo is recovering from a thigh problem while Pepe is nursing a knock to his calf. The timetables for the UEFA Champions League winners' recoveries are currently unclear.

"We're not going to set down a calendar for his return to competition," Portugal head coach Paulo Bento said of Ronaldo's timeframe before adding that the team would take "no risk" with the Real Madrid attacker's health.

Portugal are currently in the midst of their preparations for the 2014 World Cup, which will see them face Germany, the US national team and Ghana in what should be an extremely competitive Group G.
