AT&T MLS Goal of the Week update: Erik Hurtado opens up healthy lead on Landon Donovan

AT&T Goal of the Week: Week 12

Erik Hurtado left the Seattle Sounders defense in the dust when he scored the Vancouver Whitecaps' opening goal on Saturday, and he's on the verge of doing the same to all-time MLS scoring leader Landon Donovan.

When it comes to the Week 12 AT&T MLS Goal of the Week race, at least.

With 40.39 percent of votes cast as of Thursday morning, the Whitecaps' second-year man holds a 25-point lead over the LA Galaxy legend, whose record-breaking strike against the Philadelphia Union has garnered 24.81 percent.

Hurtado's teammate Gershon Koffie sits in third place with 12.75 percent, followed by Donovan's LA colleague Robbie Keane, who holds 11.81 percent of ballots cast thus far. Colorado Rapids youngster Shane O'Neill rounds out the field with 10.24 percent.

You still have time to impact this race, though. Who gets your pick? Cast your ballot for your favorite goal before voting ends! The winner is determined by the total number of votes cast online and will be announced on Friday.

Voting runs until 11:59 pm PT on Thursdays. For complete coverage of the AT&T MLS Goal of the Week — including an archive of all of this season's nominees and winners — click here.
