¡MLS Futbolito!, Major League Soccer's official 4-v-4 tournament, will return to eight cities across the United States this summer, providing players of all ages, abilities and affiliations with a chance to take part in the beautiful game.
The 12th edition of ¡MLS Futbolito! opens on Saturday, June 21, with the LA Galaxy in Bell Gardens, California and continues in Colorado, Chicago, Washington, DC, New York, Houston and Dallas before concluding with another SoCal event hosted by Chivas USA on Saturday, August 23 in Pomona, California.
The Colorado Rapids will host ¡MLS Futbolito! at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park on June 28, the same day as their regular-season match vs. the Vancouver Whitecaps, and will invite all participants and their families participating at the complex to attend the game, which kicks off at 9:00 pm ET.
¡MLS Futbolito! team rosters can consist of up to seven players (four field players and three substitutes). Each team will play in round-robin action, with the possibility of advancing to the single-elimination championship game. Teams registered for the competition will be divided according to age groups and competitive levels with winners in each division receiving prizes.
In addition to participating, each registered player will receive a ticket to an MLS match (in applicable markets), and the chance to win prizes from sponsors. There will be $3,000 in cash prizes ($2,000 for first place and $1,000 for second place) for the adult premier divisions.
This year also includes MLSFutbolito.com, a mobile-friendly website which allows players and fans to follow live scores and local events at each of the eight cities.
¡MLS Futbolito! will also continue to work with the league’s community outreach initiative, MLS WORKS, in supporting their initiatives such as "Active Bodies Active Minds," a soccer-centric program that offers fitness resources to inspire and reward children for being mentally and physically fit.
