American Exports: Bob Bradley's high-flying Stabaek thumped by Lillestrom

Michael Stephens with Stabæk Fotball

AMSTERDAM – Michael Stephens notched an assist for the third straight Tippeligaen round on Saturday, but it came on a mere consolation goal in 10-man Stabæk's 5-1 defeat at Lillestrøm.

With the Blue Ones already down four, the former LA Galaxy midfielder set up Luc Kassi to get them on the board 11 minutes from time. Stephens breached the area from the left channel, racing to the touchline for a short cutback pass that would take him into a third place tie on the league assists chart.

The result snapped a three-game win streak, dropping Bob Bradley's boys one rung to fourth place through 11 games.
