Goal of the Matchday

Wonder goal by Seattle Sounders' Obafemi Martins runs away with Week 11's AT&T Goal of the Week

You might not see a better goal scored in MLS this season than Obafemi Martins' audacious chip from this past weekend, which leaves little surprise as to why it is Week 11's AT&T Goal of the Week.

Martins was voted the clear winner of this week's honor for his sensational strike in the Sounders' 1-0 win vs. the San Jose Earthquakes this past Saturday, blowing out the competition by earning more than 81 percent of the vote. The Nigerian forward scored eight minutes into the match by floating a shot from a near-impossible angle into the back of the net, leaving Earthquakes goalkeeper Jon Busch and many others at CenturyLink Field in disbelief.

The award is Martins' third of the season. He also won it back in Week 7 and Week 8, and he currently leads all players in AT&T Goal of the Week awards this year.

Final Votes (Week 11):

1. Obafemi Martins (SEA): 81.26%
2. Jermain Defoe (TOR): 7.53%
3. Federico Higuain (CLB): 5.58%
4. Vincent Nogueira (PHI): 2.85%
5. Chris Tierney (NE): 2.77%
