American Exports: Atlas most recent club linked with Edgar Castillo as rumor mill churns in Liga MX

Edgar Castillo, Club Tijuana (March 30, 2012)

GUADALAJARA, Mexico – The future of Club Tijuana left back Edgar Castillo has been the subject of intense speculation in recent days, with Liga MX outfit Atlas the latest linked to the 27-year-old.

A report on Monday evening on MedioTiempo.com suggests that a deal to bring Castillo to the Guadalajara club is already done, according to “a source directly involved in the negotiation.”

Atlas are thought to be on the look-out for a left back to replace Óscar Razo and the club is financially much better off after it was bought by TV Azteca in at the end of 2013.

Castillo’s future at Xolos was put in doubt last week after reports surfaced in Tijuana that he could leave.

On Monday, the US international – who will not be involved at the World Cup – seemed to have signed for Monterrey, but the club’s president roundly denied it.
