World Cup: Barcelona's Alexis Sanchez, Juventus duo headline Chile's provisional roster

A potent Chile side is gearing up for another shot at the World Cup, and though they are without Humberto Suazo -- the star of their 2010 campaign -- they'll still be able to rely on a healthy amount of firepower.

Barcelona forward Alexis Sánchez, as well as the Juventus duo of midfielder Arturo Vidal and fullback Mauricio Isla, highlighted head coach Jorge Sampaoli's 30-man provisional roster for the 2014 World Cup, released Tuesday.

Suazo and Fiorentina midfielder David Pizarro are the most notable absences, though most of Chile's other foreign-based stars, including Cardiff City's Gary Medel, made the cut. There are 10 players on the roster who play in Chile's domestic league, where Sampaoli, an Argentine, cut his teeth with Universidad de Chile before taking the national team job.

Columbus Crew fans may remember defender Marcos González, who featured for the team from 2006-07 and could be in line to make his first World Cup at age 33.
