Vancouver Whitecaps and Designated Player forward Kenny Miller mutually agree to contract termination

Kenny Miller celebrates a goal vs. New York

The Kenny Miller era in Vancouver is officially done.

The Whitecaps announced Sunday that the club and Miller, a Designated Player forward, have parted ways. The decision was said to be a mutually agreed contract termination in a press release put out by the club.

“We are thankful for the contributions Kenny made both on and off the pitch during his time in Vancouver,” said Whitecaps head coach Carl Robinson. "He has been a great role model, a constant professional, and someone who I consider a very good friend. We wish him and his family all the best.”

Miller, 34, joined the Whitecaps in June 2012 and during his time with the club the native of Edinburgh, Scotland, made 45 appearances in all competitions, registering 13 goals and adding three assists.

The move leaves Vancouver with an open DP slot. The current transfer window closes May 12, while the secondary transfer window opens July 8.
