Chivas USA announced on Thursday that rookie midfielder Thomas McNamara has undergone successful surgery on his right anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and will miss eight months of action while he recovers.
McNamara, who will be added to the Disabled List, suffered the injury in Chivas USA's 1-1 draw with the Portland Timbers on April 12. The 20th overall selection in the 2014 MLS SuperDraft had started all of Chivas' six games to that point and scored a goal in the team's season-opening win against the Chicago FIre.

The Rojiblancos also announced Thursday that defender Andrew Jean-Baptiste has undergone successful surgery to repair a sports hernia he has been nursing since 2013 and will miss an estimated eight weeks of action as he recovers.
Jean-Baptiste joined Chivas USA from the Portland Timbers in an offseason trade and has played three games for his new team, registering one assist.
