US Open Cup: Game of the Round broadcasts to stream during 2014 tournament

If you were hoping to catch more Lamar Hunt US Open Cup action this year, you're in luck.


US Soccer announced Wednesday that it will stream a Game of the Round broadcast for each round of the 2014 Open Cup, providing fans the opportunity to watch a pre-selected match on USsoccer.com.


The Game of the Round begins in the tournament's eight-game opening round on May 7 with a tilt between two Massachusetts teams, Premier Development League club Western Mass Pioneers and United States Adult Soccer Association qualifier Mass Premier Soccer.


The Game of the Round for the second round, which includes 24 teams, will feature the Richmond Kickers from USL PRO and another USASA qualifier, RVA FC, on May 14.



The selected games for ensuing rounds and other Game of the Round broadcasts will be announced as the tournament continues.


The 2014 Open Cup, the 101st edition of the tournament, will see more teams compete than ever before, with a total of 80 clubs participating. The 16 US-based MLS teams will enter in the fourth round and play their first games between June 10-18.
