FRISCO, Texas — Competition continued on Friday at the Generation adidas Cup for teams that did not reach the semifinals. The eight remaining teams in the International Division are playing off for spots 5-12, to be decided on Sunday, while teams in the Domestic Division continue their five-game schedule.

International Division
Seattle Sounders 1, Philadelphia Union 0
The Seattle Sounders earned their first regulation win of the tournament (and remained unbeaten) with a 1-0 win over the Philadelphia Union on Friday evening. Philadelphia had finished 2-1 in group play, finishing as the best second-place finishers who did not reach the semifinals.
Jaegar Skifstad converted a breakaway by rounding the goalkeeper in the 23rd minute, and his first goal of the tournament held up as the winner. Goalkeeper Sten Tolgu, making his first start of the tournament, posted the shutout for Seattle.

LA Galaxy 3, New York Red Bulls 1
For the second straight day, the New York Red Bulls allowed a goal in the opening minute of the match, and this one helped lift the LA Galaxy to a 3-1 win in a consolation game on Friday evening. Dylan Smith notched his third goal of the tournament on a breakaway in the opening minute to get LA off to a quick start.
The Galaxy added goals from Rey Ortiz and Marc Calderon before Gideon Metrikin scored his second goal of the tournament for the Red Bulls.

Winless in the tournament despite several strong performances, the San Jose Earthquakes took out their frustrations on Toronto FC, rolling to a 5-1 win.
Kevin Perez struck first for San Jose, calmly finishing to the lower left corner after the ball fell to him at the top of the penalty area. Rei Dorwart made it 2-0 partway through the first half, racing past the Toronto defense and finishing with his right foot.
San Jose put things away in the second half, as Dorwart set up Kaya Fabbretti for the 14-year-old's first goal of the tournament. Forward Amir Bashti converted a penalty kick and set up 15-year-old Ivan Valencia for a goal of his own before midfielder Luca Uccello scored a late consolation goal for Toronto.

The Colorado Rapids earned their first win of the tournament, cruising to a 3-0 win over Chivas Guadalajara. Colorado jumped on top just six minutes in when a long right-wing cross from Elias Helbig ran all the way to the back post, where left back Christopher Reichman came charging forward to one-time it home.
The Rapids doubled their lead in the 21st minute, as Kyle Ericson curled a free kick to the top corner. Defender and captain Quentin Pearson added the finishing touch in the second half when a corner kick fell in the penalty area, and he reacted first to fire a high left-footed shot into the net.
