Player of the Matchday

Clint Dempsey wins 2nd straight Player of the Week by unanimous vote after brace vs. FC Dallas

Make it an emphatic deuce for Clint Dempsey.

For the second straight week, Dempsey was voted the MLS Player of the Week on Monday. The US national team captain became the first player to earn the award twice this season thanks to his brace in the Seattle Sounders' 3-2 road win vs. FC Dallas, and the third to ever do so by a unanimous vote. (See how the NASR members voted here.)

Dempsey scored Seattle's first equalizer on a spectacular free kick in the first half and the Texas native followed that up by netting the winner in the waning moments of the match at Toyota Stadium.

He now has five goals in his last two games.
