AMSTERDAM – Oguchi Onyewu was the only American in action across the pond on Friday, leaving at the break with an apparent rib complaint as Sheffield Wednesday fell 2-1 away to Championship leaders Leicester City.

The US national team veteran logged four clearances, leaving with the game tied at ones. There was no further information immediately available about Onyewu's status going forward. His partner, Owls skipper Glenn Loovens, also left the match with a knock just before the hour mark and Leicester's winner.

Having lost three of four, Wednesday remained docked in 14th place, 13 points clear of the drop zone.
