He speaks!

The U.S. Soccer Federation has kept 18-year-old phenom Julian Green off limits to media in the lead-up to Wednesday night's match against Mexico (11 pm ET, ESPN and UniMas).

But just a few hours before kick off, the USSF released the video above: the first video interview with Green to surface since he made his switch official and opted to represent the US national team.

Klinsmann didn't waste time in calling up the Bayern Munich reserve team player and speculation is that he should be getting playing time at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz., against Mexico. Green joined the US for camp ahead of the last friendly against Ukraine, but he was not eligible to play.

Green is already getting with the program, using the word "we" a few times in the video.

"It's a very special game and I hope we will win tomorrow," he says. "It would be very special if I can play tomorrow. It would be great. I'm looking forward to it."
