Wanted: a loving, new home for the dog of a professional soccer player.

On Tuesday, Chicago Fire midfielder Chris Rolfe posted the following update to his personal Facebook page:

More from The Sideline

"Hey everyone, I am looking for a new home for my dog, Nash. He's been an awesome dog for me, I'm just unable to keep him any longer. If you have any interest or know someone who might, please message me!"

Nashville is a 65-pound, two-year-old golden retriever mix that Rolfe rescued from an animal shelter during the 2013 preseason.

Rolfe, who is a volunteer dog walker according to this report, didn't mention why he's seeking a new home for Nashville, but surely someone out there in Fire land is looking for an "athlete" of a dog who, according to Rolfe, "loves cats, dogs, kids and loves to cuddle."
