AT&T MLS Goal of the Week update: Real Salt Lake's Kyle Beckerman leads crowded field

Real Salt Lake might not have come away with the full three points on Saturday in their 3-3 tie against the San Jose Earthquakes, but midfielder Kyle Beckerman looks well on his way to winning Goal of the Week honors for his long-range blast.

With 44.38 percent of the vote, the US national team regular has the lead over the field with less than a day remaining for fans to vote. Toronto FC's Jermain Defoe is currently in second place with 16 percent of the vote after scoring twice in his MLS debut.

Defoe is followed closely by the Seattle Sounders' own USMNT hero, Clint Dempsey, the San Jose Earthquakes' Victor Bernardez and the New York Red Bulls' Thierry Henry, who all have between 12 and 14 percent of the vote.

There's still time to cause some movement, however, in this race. Cast your ballot before voting ends!

The winner is determined by the total number of votes cast online and will be announced on Friday.

Voting runs until 11:59 pm PT on Thursdays. For complete coverage of the AT&T MLS Goal of the Week — including an archive of all of this season's nominees and winners — click here.
