American Exports: Tim Ream helps Bolton edge further away from Championship relegation zone

Tim Ream with Bolton

AMSTERDAM – A pair of Americans laced up for Tuesday night action in the English Championship, with Tim Ream sliding to center back as warming Bolton climbed 11 points clear of the trap door with 0-0 draw at third-place Derby County.

With Zak Whitbread watching on from the Rams dugout, Ream piled up nine clearances and three pass picks to help Wanderers extend their unbeaten streak to six games.

Bolton notched their sixth clean sheet from 14 games with the US international in the heart of defense, as opposed to just two in their other 20 league matches.

Elsewhere, Duane Holmes worked a fairly quiet 73 minutes on right wing in Yeovil Town's 1-0 home defeat to Ipswich Town. Missing a chance to jump out of the relegation mire, the Glovers lost for the first time in six.
