We've taken you through the basics, given you several "cheat sheets" and pumped out untold Starting Lineups, but now it's time for you to take matters into your own hands, literally.
Being a successful MLS Fantasy Manager is no easy task. It takes research, knowledge and guts. This comes natural to some, but for others it's earned.
One tool everyone has access to, however, is the MLS Matchday app. The newest version was released on Wednesday, and the upgrades are extraordinary. Here's what you need to know:
If you don't already have the new MLS Matchday app v5.0,
download it now
. If you do, just update the existing app on your current mobile device.
Personally, I chose to receive alerts from every single
team in the league. I went into each club (image, right) and selected Lineup Available, Goals, Misconduct and Substitutions. This will allow me to receive anything and everything I need to monitor the players in my lineup and/or my opponents’ lineup.
It will also help you become more familiar with different teams and players throughout the league, those who are heating up and those who are misbehaving.
As I mentioned earlier, to be a great manager you have to do your prep work. This is the easiest way to stay up to date on the current news and lineup info. And with the new substitution rule now allowing managers to adjust their lineups on the fly, the team notifications – in particular, lineups available – could be crucial to your success in 2014.
One final note before you prep yourself for Saturday's fixtures. Bookmark the mobile site for MLS Fantasy and use it to make changes when you're on the go: m.fantasy.mlssoccer.com
It's fully functional and very easy to use. Check out the images below.
