Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Just look at the new 2014 Colorado Rapids home kit for proof.
The 2013 blue away kits were such a big hit with their Colorado state flag on the jock tag at the bottom of the shirt and the large "C" from the flag embossed across the chest, that the club has decided to carry those same features over to the 2014 burgundy home shirts unveiled by the club on Wednesday.
That's not the only new feature on the latest primary jersey. The updated look also incorporates a unique sleeve contrast: The vertical adidas 3-stripes fade from sky blue to traditional burgundy as they run down the arm.
One fixture that remains intact is the number “5280” on the back neck, as in the feet above sea level in the mile-high city.
Every MLS team is unveiling new jerseys as part of 2014 Jersey Week, which runs through March 7 in the lead-up to the start of the new season on Saturday, March 8.
