American Exports: Road woes continue for Sacha Kljestan, Anderlecht

Sacha Kljestan with Anderlecht, 2012-13

AMSTERDAM – Sacha Kljestan and Belgian holders Anderlecht saw their road woes continue with a tough 2-1 loss at Lokeren on Friday.

The US midfielder worked all 90 minutes, setting up two of the visitors' best chances of the night with crosses deftly delivered to the Lokeren doorstep. Anderlecht striker Aleksandar Mitrovic put the first opportunity inches wide following Dennis Praet's knockdown in the 11th minute, and then saw his header from the second Kljestan cross saved 11 minutes after intermission.

Anderlecht have not won a Jupiler League match away from home since December 15, losing five of seven since. The defeat cost the champs a chance to tentatively grab second place and cut their title deficit to single digits.
