American Exports: Clint Dempsey left out of Fulham squad again, Geoff Cameron goes 90 for Stoke City

AMSTERDAM – Fulham loan attacker Clint Dempsey was left out of his team's matchday 18 for the second time in a row as the cellar dwellers suffered a collapse in a 3-2 loss to visitors Liverpool.

Though not injured, according to the club, the US star is among 10 players dropped from the lineup that sleepwalked through a galling FA Cup replay exit at home to third-flight strugglers Sheffield United last Tuesday.

Further north, Geoff Cameron worked another solid shift at right back on Wednesday night, helping Stoke City battle out a 1-1 draw at home with Swansea City.

The former Houston Dynamo man did most of his business at the back on this night, racking up five tackles, five clearances and a game-best six pass interceptions. Now undefeated in three league games, the Potters sit in 14th place.

Elsewhere, Brad Friedel served as backup netminder for Tottenham's 4-0 cruise through Newcastle. Spurs posted their sixth win from a seven-game EPL unbeaten road run to stay level on points with fourth-place Liverpool.

Meanwhile, gale force winds gusting up to 45 miles per hour forced the postponements of a pair of EPL matches: Jozy Altidore's visit to Manchester City with Sunderland and Tim Howard and Everton playing host to Crystal Palace. Neither make-up date has been announced as of yet.

Over in Germany's DfB-Pokal, Fabian Johnson went unused as Hoffenheim bowed out with a 3-2 defeat to quarterfinal visitors Wolfsburg.
