American Exports: Alejandro Bedoya hoping to return from hamstring knock this weekend vs. Nice

Alejandro Bedoya with FC Nantes

AMSTERDAM – Nantes attacker Alejandro Bedoya is hoping to beat a nagging hamstring knock in time to make the team's trip to Nice at the end of the week.

The US international did not dress for either match this week, missing a heartbreaking Coupe de Ligue exit to Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday and Sunday's league loss to visiting Lyon. He's hopeful to return Saturday.

"I have a slight hamstring injury that I suffered from the game against Sochaux, that had been bothering me from before," Bedoya told MLSsoccer.com on Monday. "I'm back to jogging and recovery, and looking to be back for the game against Nice."

Bedoya has started 14 of 19 league matches during his Canaries debut season, notching three goals and an assist. Nantes are currently experiencing their toughest stretch of the season, with five league losses in seven dropping them down to ninth place ahead of the weekend Nice contest.

If healthy, Bedoya is likely to be called in for the US national team's matchup against Ukraine in Kharkiv on March 5. His last appearance for the USMNT came in the team's 1-0 loss to Austria in November, when he started and logged 76 minutes before he was subbed off.
