Orlando City SC welcome David Beckham to Florida

Orlando City SC, currently of USL PRO in the third division of the U.S. Soccer pyramid, will become Major League Soccer's 21st competing franchise when the Central Florida club joins the top flight in 2015.

But the Lions won't be the Sunshine State's only MLS tenant for long. You probably heard all about Wednesday's announcement that David Beckham will be ushering his own expansion team into the league, will be doing so in South Florida, and will be targeting 2017 as the club's start date.

As if to say, "Hey, guys, we're still here, too, and we're not going to lie down at the mere presence of your name," Orlando City sent out the above tweet with attached photo in the minutes following Beckham and MLS's special announcement.

Obviously only time will tell which side gets the best of the on-field battles, but Round 1 of the Twitter battle goes to Orlando City. Round 2 has undoubtedly gone to the early supporters of Beckham's Miami outfit for this vicious response.

As is the case with any local rivaly/"derby" matchup, the Orlando City SC vs. Beckham's expansion team rivalry will need a clever name. This is where you come in, MLSsoccer.com readers. We already know how clever you can be.
