GUADALAJARA, Mexico – DaMarcus Beasley’s Puebla picked up their first win of the Liga MX’s Clausura championship on Saturday, overcoming Veracruz 1-0 on the road.
US international Beasley played 90 minutes in the left wingback role he has been getting accustomed to under coach Rubén Omar Romano, but was limited in his attacking intent with Los Tiburones Rojos pressuring La Franja before Alberto Medina’s goal eight minutes from time.
Michael Orozco went the full 90 minutes on the left side of three center backs and had a good game helping to resist Veracruz as they piled forward in search of a home win.
