The US men's national team could be heading to Red Bull Arena prior to the World Cup, according to a report from SI.com's Brian Straus.

The report indicates that the USMNT will play one of its three World Cup warmup friendlies at the New York Red Bulls' home venue, with the match likely to take place on either May 27 or June 1. The US last played at RBA in a 1-0 loss to Ecuador on Oct. 11, 2011.

The team currently has two friendlies on the schedule for 2014 – Feb. 1 against South Korea in Los Angeles and April 5 at Ukraine – with more likely to come.

U.S. Soccer confirmed Tuesday to MLSsoccer.com that it was in discussions for a friendly in April, possibly against Mexico. Furthermore, the report states that the US are also scheduled for three send-off friendlies prior to the team's departure for Brazil, including the match at Red Bull Arena, with the final game in Florida before the team's departure to Brazil on June 7.

When reached for comment by MLSsoccer.com about the report, a U.S. Soccer spokesperson said, "We’ve have discussions with numerous venues, but nothing is confirmed at this point for any of our send-off matches in late May or early June."
