Last year, FIFA 13 whiz AirJapesFIFA saw every video game player's life-long dream come true when he took home the $10,000 grand prize upon winning the inaugural KICKTV Invitational.
We tipped readers off recently to the return of this year's tournament featuring some of the world's best FIFA 14 players, but were still awaiting some of the finer details to trickle out.
Thanks to the kind folks over at KICKTV Gaming, that is no longer the case (see above video).
The FIFA 14 KICKTV Invitational will see the tournament's 16 competitiors — all flown to New York City for the showdown — will be drawn into four World Cup-style groups of four, from which only the top two players will advance.
Each group game will be worth $500 to the winner, as well as a $50 gift card to one of their YouTube channel subscribers. The stakes will rise to $1,000 in the quarterfinals, $2,500 in the semifinals, and the $10,000 grand prize for the best-of-three championship round.
The eventual winner could take home as much as $15,000 after playing, at most, eight games of FIFA 14.
Also on the line is this beautiful, bright orange KICKTV Invitational champion's jacket. For the MLS supporters competing, hopefully the tournament is full of Houston Dynamo fans.
