LA Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena hinted late last week that the club was closing in on signing a foreign wide player.
Now, we know who that player is.
According to report on the Galaxy Insider blog, the club is nearing a deal with veteran IF Elfsborg winger Stefan Ishizaki. The Swedish international, who was born in Stockholm to a Japanese father and Swedish mother, is expected to fill the roster spot that was made available last week by the departure of Hector Jimenez.

No official word from the Galaxy yet on any deal for Ishizaki or any other foreign wide player.
Ishizaki, 31, scored two goals in 27 appearances last season for Elfsborg in the Swedish first-division. He has also had stints with Norwegian club Valerenga, Italian side Genoa and Sweden's AIK. He has 13 caps with Sweden's national team.
The Galaxy are expected to begin their 2014 preseason preparatons later this month.
