DC United Academy product Andy Najar scores first league goal for Anderlecht

Andy Najar with Anderlecht

It's been a year since Andy Najar joined Belgian giants Anderlecht and on Sunday he scored his first league goal for the storied side.

The ex-D.C. United Homegrown signing scored after just two minutes in a road match at KV Mechelen, but it wasn't enough. The home team turned it around with goals on 30 and 57 minutes to take the 2-1 win.

Najar, who starred as an overlapping right back in MLS, got the start at right wing for Anderlecht and crashed the far post to head home early. Watch the goal here on Anderlecht's official site.

American World Cup hopeful Sacha Kljestan was a halftime substitute, but could not prevent Anderlecht from falling seven points behind Jupiler League pace-setters Standard Liege.
